| A Rewarding Choice
Before becoming a Financial Representative, I was a Naval Officer, Accountant, and Financial Analyst over the course of six years. I find the biggest reward in this career is choosing those we help and great freedom in how we serve. The greatest challenge is learning how to manage the freedom on a daily basis. Early on, it's challenging to maintain a positive attitude and make enough income. Along the way, I learned I need to follow the system and depend on others to come close to maximizing potential. Making a Difference A life policy with a waiver and a very good health policy enabled a young realtor to wage a 13 year battle with cancer. The cash in the policy and knowledge of the ultimate death benefit was very important to maintaining her positive attitude. Career Milestones I've attained life membership in the Million Dollar Round Table in my initial six years, achieved Certified Life Underwriter designation in three years, was invited to the recognition dinner years ago (now Forum would be similar), and earned 100 Lives Annual Growth Award as Managing Director. These are a few examples of many. Career Advice Do many surveys and have a good plan. Make sure your support system is on board. Recognize this is a simple but not easy business. It offers so much and the price required to enjoy the career is really a fraction of that required by most other professions with similar potential. This company is differentiated from the others because Northwestern Mutual always delivers on their promises and they stay the course. Outside of Work I'm involved with Rotary, serve on a couple of boards with causes I believe in, do a lot of sailing on Lake Michigan, and spend time with family. Donald Stohler has been a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network since 2000. Visit his website to learn more about him, or call Donald at 574-294-3700. |
