| A Rewarding Career Choice
Before becoming a Financial Representative, I was a buyer for a department store company.
I was a Northwestern Mutual Financial Network client and was referred into the business by my Financial Representative. After several meetings with the Managing Partner and other Financial Representatives in the office, I decided that this is where I wanted to spend the rest of my professional life. I find the greatest reward to be the opportunity to be exposed to some of the greatest people I have ever known. The growth opportunities have been tremendous. The income and independence opportunities have been great but I am sure in the long run, it will be the relationships I have developed that will be the true treasure of this career. The greatest challenge is dealing with the complexity of our business, and developing a philosophy that I was consistent so that my message was clear when I met with clients and prospects. There are many ways to skin the cat, so to speak, and I wanted to find the best way for me. Early in the career, the greatest challenge was gaining the appropriate level of knowledge and expertise so that I felt confident in front of sophisticated clients and prospects. Along the way, I have learned I have a tremendous gift of transferring my enthusiasm for our products as well as our career. Usually after a meeting with me, my subject is fired up! A Time I Made a Difference I have a client who was struggling with how she was going to pay for her son's college. We had some life insurance discussions several years back, and at one annual review, we discussed using the cash values as an option to assist with the tuition payments. She was so excited because she said to me that she never thought about the life insurance policies that she bought and how they could help with living needs as well. Even though I stressed this point on many occasions, it took this unique problem to help her see the many wonderful uses of our products. My Key Focus As a Managing Director, I am now focused on building a thriving district network office. As such, I always look to achieve the OARS award and the Growth Award, but my number one milestone that I am thinking about now is winning the DA Achievement Award in my category.
