A Rewarding Career Shift 
Before becoming a Financial Representative, I was a teacher in Milwaukee, WI. I needed more freedom and more opportunity for a higher income. The greatest reward in this career is the ultimate freedom of movement and the chance to get into management. The greatest challenge lies in the first few years of trying to get established and rejection on the telephone. And early in the career, it was challenging for me to manage my time, learn the products and get enough activity.
 
Along the way, I have learned that I like being my own boss and having my own business.
 
Making a Difference
In my career, I have had many episodes of death claims, helping people claim on waiver of premium benefit; and also made a difference by managing some people I recruited who are succeeding today!

Notable Milestones and Some Career Advice
I have had 35 years in my career and am going toward 40.

If you are considering becoming a Financial Representative, learn your product, learn yourself and listen to all help. Develop a sales approach, telephone talk and work long hours early in your career.

It isn't for everyone, but very right for certain people, male and female.
 
Our company is differentiated by its net cost, training, no brokerage and the fact it is a class operation in the Midwest.
 
Outside of Work
I volunteer for Meals on Wheels, volunteer five hours a week at the historical Tryon Palace Academy, travel and play golf.
